ENG: Ministries of Education and Sports, Montenegrin Olympic Committee, and company One signed a Memorandum of Cooperation
Today, the Ministries of Education and Sports and Youth, the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (MOC), and Telco company “One” signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at promoting sports and Olympic values within the Montenegrin education system. On this line, the project "Learn, Discover and Move" was created, within which One company will start equipping schools throughout Montenegro with physical education equipment on Sports Day.
Within the project, in preparation for Olympic Day, which is celebrated on June 23, awareness will also be raised about what Olympic values represent, as well as their importance for growing up and life outside the sports field.
Critical topics for children's upbringing, which deal with issues such as peer violence, excessive expectations in sports and school, discrimination and tolerance, the importance of formal and informal learning, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of technology, will be available to the entire education system in the form of video lessons.
The Minister of Education, Miomir Vojinović, said he was pleased that the memorandum promoting sports in the education system was being signed at a time of digitization and when peer violence is often mentioned. "I am particularly pleased that at a time when the Olympic days are about to begin, special attention will be paid to sports and sports activities. We know what sport brings with it - only good, beautiful, success, socializing, teamwork, and everything that is necessary for Montenegrin education, as well as society," said Vojinović.
The Minister of Sports and Youth, Vasilije Lalošević, said he expects this project to be a stimulus for other companies that generate significant revenues and business results to follow in the footsteps of One company. "This will be a beautiful story that we at the Ministry of Sports have also envisioned, and that is a chance to teach young people something that is the most beautiful, and above all, fair play and discipline, as well as teamwork," said Minister Lalošević.
The President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović, said he was pleased that the Ministry of Education quickly recognized the idea of the project, and that One company supported it. "The project is a combination of education, sports, and social responsibility. I am very happy about this project. I hope that similar activities will take place in preparation for Olympic Day," said Simonović.
The finale of this project will be related to the "Move" component, within which the signatories of the Memorandum will be part of the MOC’s central event on Olympic Day.
