President of MOC met Aljona Kudrjavceva, Deputy Ambassador of Russian Federation

On Tuesday, 22nd February 2011. The President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović met the delegation of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Montenegro, Deputy Ambassador, Ms. Aljona Kudjavceva and Advisor-Consul at the Embassy, Mr. Sergej Petrukovič.

Cooperation with the Embassy of Russian Federation in Montenegro, in the domain of sport, lasts for a while, and facing the Winter Olympic Games in Socci 2014, it is necessary to establish direct contacts of sport institutions from both countries, which was the main topic of this meeting.

There is great mutual interest for cooperation in the area of sport between the Russian Federation and Montenegro, and for development of Montenegrin sport, first of all, most important would be professional assistance of Russian sport experts. Russian party was interested in possibilities for preparations of their athletes in Montenegro, while Montenegrin athletes could have significant benefits from visits to Russian sport camps.

Ms. Kudrjavceva presented closely information about the project of the Olympic and Para Olympic Games in Socci and informed the President of MOC about current activities. OG Socci will be held in March 2014, and it was estimated that 5.500 Olympians from 80 countries will gather including 1.350 participants of the Para Olympic Games from 40 countries.

Due to changes occurred in the Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation signing of the Agreement between the Olympic Committees of Montenegro and the Russian Federation and formal cooperation were not yet realized, so activities on this mutually useful initiative will continue in future.
