From 1. to 4. September in Innsbruck (Austria) was held meeting of Chefs de Mission for the first Winter Youth Olympic Games to be held in this well known winter touristic center from 13-22. January 2012.
On behalf of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, at this meeting of Chefs de Mission regarding the first Winter Youth Olympic Games, was present Sports Director Predrag Marsenić.
Preparations for the beginning of the Games are going on according to plan. Representatives of National Olympic Committees had an opportunity to visit the venues as wel as the Olympic Village. Organizers of the Games introduced the participants with progress of preparations in all organizational levels and regarding accreditations, transport, security, organization of sport events as well as with cultural and educational workshops that will be organized at the same time as the sport competitions.
After organization of the Winter Oympic Games in 1964 and 1976, Innsbruck will now be the host of most successful young athletes in winter sports (born from 1994-1997). Competitions will be held in 8 Olympic sports (alpine skiing, nordic skiing, skating, biathlon, hockey, curling, skeleton and bobsleigh).
According to current estimates, Montenegro will be represented by one athlete in alpine skiing at the Games in Innsbruck.
