Belgrade ready for Montenegrins, too
"Everything is prepaerd so that athletes from Montenegro, which is about to be accepted in the IOC by the beginning of EYOF, can participate in Belgrade."
This was, as quoted from the Belgrade daily Politika, stated by Mr Đorđe Višicki, the Director of "EYOF Belgrade 2007" on the first out of many future monthly press conferences, hosted by the Serbian Olympic Committee. Višicki particularly mentioned Montenegrin representatives, since their participation was uncertain until 24. He also added that the participants of on this biggest sport event in Europe, organized under patronage of the European Olympic Committee, will be representatives of 48. members of that Olympic Association. (The Montenegrin Olympic Committee will become 49. member of the EOC, after being accepted in the IOC membership, at the beginning of July as 204. member.)
"At this moment, we know that 4.000 guests will arrive in Belgrade, and all the care to be taken of them will be provided by the biggest ever organisational machinery with 2.100 members. Important part is also 1.300 volunteers and about 800 people in charge of organization and officiation of the competitions in 11 sports", said Višicki.
Nineth EYOF, European Youth Olympic Festival, will be held in the capital of Serbia, from 22. to 27. July.
