Today at the Opening Ceremony, which was preceded by a parade of some 1,600 participants from 45 countries of Europe and in the presence of a large number of senior officials, the11th European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOWF) has officially been declared open and will be held from 17th to 22nd February in the Romanian sports recreation center "Brasov".
The performances of popular musicians were joined by attractive acrobatics by snow-boarders and skiers, as well as modern dances.
EYOWF participants are young athletes aged 15 to 17, and the competition itself will include 8 sports (alpine skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, cross country, figure skating, speed skating, ice hockey and ski jumping).
Milena Radojicic, who will compete in slalom and giant slalom, is representing Montenegro at this event. The Montenegrin delegation consists of Kosic Marina (coach) and Predrag Marsenic (Head of Mission), as well.
Giant slalom race is scheduled for February 18rth, while the slalom competition is to be held on February 20th 2013.
